Grant Gonzales started his political career at the young age of 13 when he was selected to serve as a Legislative Page in the Ontario Legislature. Inspired by his experience, he continued his passion for politics through his education, career and community service.
With early experience in politics, Grant brought his skills to Queen’s Park, spending several summers interning for a senior Liberal cabinet minister. He also worked in fundraising and communications at St. Michael's College School, where he played a crucial role in coordinating and assisting with large alumni engagement campaigns, fundraising drives and special events.
Immediately prior to joining Counsel, Grant gained experience in government relations at the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, providing research and analysis support.
Grant is an active community volunteer, having worked on political campaigns over several elections, including in his home riding of Davenport. He served as a Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for the Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre. During his undergraduate years, Grant was a member of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and Treasurer of the Arts and Science Students' Union, which represents over 23,000 students.
Grant holds a Master of Political Management from Carleton University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto. He serves on the Ontario Liberal Party Executive as Vice-President, Engagement. Grant is a self-taught skier and pastry enthusiast.
