Counsel was retained by OCAD University to provide federal government relations and advocacy in support of their proposal to build a new research and innovation hub on Toronto’s waterfront.

Working closely with OCAD University, Counsel helped to develop the proposal and pitch to federal government decision makers, and arranged meetings and tours with key federal ministers and officials. Counsel identified the opportunity presented by the launch of the federal government’s Strategic Investment Fund focus on post-secondary institutions, and helped OCAD University to adapt their proposal to the program timelines by splitting the project into two phases.

Following the proposal submission, the federal government announced funding support for the project.
