- Policy Development
David brings years of experience in conservative politics to Counsel’s Federal team. He thoroughly understands opposition politics and most recently served as a senior advisor in Conservative Research Group, where he provided communications and research support to the Conservative caucus in the House of Commons.
With a strong background in statistics and a passion for politics, David became the Conservative Party of Canada’s National Pollster for the 2019 Canadian General Election. In this role, he conducted public opinion research that helped to inform policy development and political narrative. He has an intimate understanding of how political leaders calculate their next moves, and the voter coalitions each party needs to persuade to achieve their electoral goals.
At Counsel, David focuses on federal government advocacy and expands Counsel’s suite of services to include public opinion research. He uses data to craft narratives that demonstrate how clients’ goals can empower decision makers to be successful.
Originally from New Brunswick, David began his career by running the Parliament Hill office of his local Member of Parliament, the Honourable Keith Ashfield P.C. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of New Brunswick.
