To Evan, politics and policy discussions are second nature. Whether it is running a campaign, honing messaging, or connecting the right people together at the right time he knows what it takes to make real and effective policy changes.
Evan is an experienced political organizer who has worked in the House of Commons and on campaigns at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. Prior to joining Counsel, he served as the Executive and Legislative Affairs Manager for a Member of Parliament, where he provided support for the MP’s roles as Parliamentary Secretary for Democratic Institutions as well as Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
Evan came to Ottawa after managing a successful local federal election campaign. At the provincial level, he worked for Ontario’s Minister of Children and Youth Services and the Women’s Directorate in her constituency office.
Outside of politics, he has worked for the Ontario Centres of Excellence supporting its innovation agenda, and as a researcher for the University of Toronto.
Evan holds a dual Master’s degree in History and East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto and the Asian Institute in the Munk School of Global Affairs, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
