Peter Dalla-Vicenza joins Counsel after two decades of serving five NDP Premiers over three Western Canadian provinces. Peter is a passionate and dedicated team player focused on getting good things done. He now brings those skills and experience to help clients succeed at Counsel Public Affairs.
In Manitoba, he was a trusted communications advisor to the Ministers of Health and Justice. He later helped develop health, environmental, and justice policies that were the foundation of the 2007 election platform that resulted in the re-election of Premier Gary Doer.
In Alberta, he served as Chief of Staff for the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation during high-stakes negotiations for funding of light rail transit projects in Calgary and Edmonton, while later working in the same capacity for the Minister of Culture, helping secure provincial funding that brought the World Junior Hockey Championships to Edmonton and Red Deer.
Peter is also a skilled and experienced issues manager and crisis communications specialist who has worked on complex and politically sensitive files including child welfare, crime suppression and prevention, and public health.
A long-time New Democrat, Peter has also worked in provincial campaign war rooms in Manitoba, Ontario, and BC.
Peter lives in Victoria with his spouse Sandra Findlay. They spend their off hours camping, paddle boarding and enjoying life on beautiful Vancouver Island. Their adult daughter Robin, an artist and filmmaker, lives in Vancouver.
