Matthew
Prior to joining Counsel, Matthew worked at The Winnipeg Foundation, Canada’s first community foundation and one of the longest-standing charities in Manitoba. At the Foundation, he supported strategic initiatives to bolster Winnipeg’s charitable sector and acted as a bridge to the sector for donors, building connections to partners throughout the city.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Matthew holds a deep appreciation for the people and rich cultures that make Manitoba special.
As Director of Partnerships at a Winnipeg-based start-up, Matthew gained first-hand experience in the city’s burgeoning tech sector. Experienced in business development, he oversaw the rollout of new technology across several major U.S. markets, including New York, Chicago, Houston, and Dallas Fort-Worth.
Demonstrating a keen eye for new business opportunities, an ability to deliver impactful results, and a strong work ethic, Matthew consistently achieved new market launches ahead of schedule while exceeding scaling Key Performance Indicators. A major contributor to rapid partner growth in American markets, his achievements included signing and on-boarding of some of the businesses’ largest profit-drivers and his identification of new business opportunities contributed to the development of new revenue streams for partners.
Matthew currently sits on the board for the Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and holds a B.Comm (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba.
