TORONTO, DECEMBER 19, 2018 — Counsel is continuing to grow its roster of talented consultants with new additions to its Ottawa office and public relations teams.

Evan Wiseman joins Counsel as Senior Consultant, Federal Advocacy.

Evan Wiseman is an experienced political organizer who has worked in the House of Commons and on campaigns at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. Prior to joining Counsel, Evan served as the Executive and Legislative Affairs Manager for a Member of Parliament, where he provided support for his roles as Parliamentary Secretary for Democratic Institutions as well as Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Evan came to Ottawa after managing a successful local federal election campaign. At the provincial level, Evan worked for Ontario’s Minister of Youth and Children Services and the Women’s Directorate in her constituency office.

Outside of politics, Evan has worked for the Ontario Centres of Excellence supporting its innovation agenda, and as a researcher for the University of Toronto.

Evan holds a dual Master’s degree in History and East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto and the Asian Institute in the Munk School of Global Affairs, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto.

Shanice Scott joins Counsel as Communications Consultant.

Shanice Scott brings an in-depth knowledge of political and media trends, strategic communications and issues management to Counsel’s “PR 4 GR” practice. Prior to joining Counsel, Shanice served both the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

As Communications Advisor for the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Shanice developed strategic communication and media strategies, including communications support for the Premier and Ontario Cabinet Ministers on their many trade missions throughout the United States in support of Canada’ NAFTA renegotiations.

Shanice’s experience also includes having served two Members of Parliament in their Parliament Hill and constituency offices, and involvement in countless political campaigns at the federal, provincial and municipal level.

Shanice holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Public Policy and Political Science from the University of Guelph.
