VICTORIA, May 10, 2021 – Counsel Public Affairs is pleased to welcome its newest team member, Jean-Marc Prevost, as Associate Vice President, Western Canada.

“With insights gleaned from senior-government work in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba, Jean-Marc is ready to lead, advocate and deliver for clients; connecting them with the decision-makers who can advance their project and policy priorities in B.C. and across Western Canada,” said Brad Lavigne, Partner and Western Canada Practice Lead. “We are thrilled with the extensive experience and networks he brings with him.”

Prior to joining Counsel, Jean-Marc directed B.C. Health’s communications team. From the province’s first confirmed COVID case, to the first vaccine shot, he supported Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry to develop and implement their globally-recognized pandemic response.

Jean-Marc worked with economic development, energy and justice ministers in the Alberta Government under former Premier Rachel Notley, including leading the implementation of a multi-ministry provincial coal phase-out. During his time with the Manitoba government, he held communications roles in more than a dozen portfolios, under two premiers.

He also has also worked with Indigenous leaders and organizations across Western Canada to develop public and private partnerships that support environmental, education, training, employment, and housing initiatives.

At Counsel, Jean-Marc shares what he’s learned, working nearly two decades in government and communications, with his clients – empowering them to create the strategy and connections that get the results they need.
