Admittedly, I do not write or post articles as much as I would like. However, I was moved on this International Women’s Day to acknowledge and celebrate the amazing women I get to work with every day at Counsel Public Affairs, and the hundreds more that I interact with in my day-to-day business.
Today, I’m sending a sincere “thank you” to all you women, for all that you bring to your work, families, and friends every day. While it may sometimes feel like your efforts are not always celebrated or acknowledged, today is the day to honour you for all that you do and bring – day in and day out.
As a woman, I know we face our fair share of challenges here in Canada. From a personal and professional perspective, I was struck with the human stories and context of this article; it shines an important light on the realities that working women continue to face in today’s workforce.
I want to take the opportunity today to acknowledge how lucky I feel to be able to live as a woman in Canada and, more importantly, recognize the struggles of millions of women worldwide who are not in a position to exercise their voice, and who face fear every day simply for being a woman.
Together, let’s be thankful and celebrate ourselves today… and celebrate YOU.
