VICTORIA, November 21, 2019 – Counsel Public Affairs is excited to announce the addition of Jim Rutkowski, a seasoned government relations and communications professional, to its growing Western Canada division. Rutkowski will be a Senior Associate with Counsel, based out of Victoria.

Rutkowski has served in a variety of senior political roles including Chief of Staff to BC Opposition Leader and now-Finance Minister, Carole James, and Principal Secretary to former Alberta Premier, Rachel Notley. He has worked extensively in government relations across every sector of the western economy, including significant experience in the energy field.
Over his career, Rutkowski has developed a deep appreciation of how governments approach decisions and how best to constructively engage decision makers. He has also overseen the development and execution of impactful communications and public relations campaigns across a wide range of issues.
