Trillium Health Partners

In 2013, Trillium Health Partners (THP) engaged Counsel Public Affairs to provide crisis management advice and support in communicating information and allaying public fears about concerns regarding the accuracy of radiology scans by a physician practicing at THP. Counsel worked with THP to develop a communications strategy, rollout and messages that would inform and assure patients and keep government and media updated. Counsel provided media relations coaching to the CEO and Chief of Staff, as well as advice on the rollout and timing of the announcement.

We worked closely with the team to develop, advise on, and refine key messages, tough questions and answers, media releases, patient letters and media monitoring. Though this work, THP reached all patients that may have been affected, ensured accurate messages were reported in the media, and ultimately, limited damage to the public’s trust in the hospital’s continued ability to provide quality care to the community.
