Logan Ross Promoted to Senior Vice President and Communications and Campaigns Practice Lead,
Emily Binkley joins Counsel’s Growing Team as a Consultant

Counsel Public Affairs is pleased to announce the promotion of Logan Ross to Senior Vice President, Communications and Campaigns, and the hiring of Emily Binkley as a Consultant with the communications and Ontario government relations teams.

As SVP, Logan takes on the responsibility of leading Counsel’s Communications and Campaigns practice. “We are thrilled to promote Logan to Senior Vice President, Communications and Campaigns. Over the past two years, Logan’s experience and expertise have been invaluable in supporting our significant expansion across the country and helping our clients navigate incredibly complex risks and opportunities,” said Counsel Partner Bob Lopinski.

Before joining Counsel, Logan played a central role in the Government of Manitoba, overseeing strategic planning and communications for the Premier and Executive Council and serving as the Provincial Lead for Communications, Issues, Marketing, and Stakeholder Relations for the Vaccination Implementation Task Force and all COVID-19 initiatives. Prior to her government experience, Logan was a Vice President at a high-stakes crisis communications consulting firm and served as Principal Secretary to the Leader of the Official Opposition in Ontario and Director of Election Readiness leading up to the 2018 Ontario Provincial Election.

“I am honoured to step into the position of Senior Vice President and Practice Lead for Communications and Campaigns at Counsel Public Affairs. I wish to express my gratitude to Bob Lopinski and the Partners for their ongoing trust in my leadership. I am proud of our exceptional team who commit daily to supporting our valued clients,” Logan Ross said. “I am also pleased to formally welcome Emily to her new role; she has quickly proven herself a terrific addition to Counsel’s growing team and someone clients and her colleagues can rely on.”

Prior to joining Counsel, Emily honed her skills as an Account Coordinator with two public relations and government relations agencies, as well as an internship at a boutique law firm specializing in sustainability. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Development and Political Studies, as well as a Certificate in Law – both from Queen’s University.

These appointments follow a year of tremendous growth in every area of the firm and reflect Counsel’s continued commitment to providing clients with a full suite of innovative, strategic, and impactful corporate communications services in addition to our government relations, Indigenous engagement, and JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) offerings.

Our services include integrated strategy and message development, media relations and training, social media engagement, corporate communications, and reputation and crisis management. We also specialize in integrated public relations advocacy campaigns to support our clients’ government relations needs –something we call “PR 4 GR.”
