Ben Parsons Promoted to Vice President & John Delacourt named Federal Practice Lead

In recognition of his six-year track record of outstanding client work, the Partners at Counsel Public Affairs are proud to announce that Ben Parsons has been promoted to Vice President, Federal Advocacy.

“Counsel’s federal government relations and communications clients have come to rely on Ben’s straight up political and policy advice,” said Sheamus Murphy, Partner. “Ben has consistently put our clients’ objectives at the forefront while crafting solutions that appeal to government – engendering a high level of trust with a broad network of decision-makers. When coupled with his headline-grabbing strategic communications skills, Ben’s promotion within the firm was well deserved.”

In addition to Ben’s new title, the Partners are pleased to announce that John Delacourt, Senior Vice President, will assume the role of Federal Practice Lead. John will ensure that client deliverables remain on track within the federal team, while exercising quality control over the team’s work.

“Since joining Counsel one year ago, John has fit right into the firm’s culture while inspiring us to raise our game to a new level,” said Sheamus. “I have no hesitation in passing the baton to John, which will enable me to focus on firmwide responsibilities while continuing to engage in important federal client work.”

In October 2022, the Partners at Counsel Public Affairs announced a multi-year leadership succession plan. The reorganization of the federal practice supports the gradual transition of the leadership of the firm to partners Brad Lavigne and Sheamus Murphy.
