Counsel adds four new consultants to its rapidly growing Western practice 

Prairies 

Counsel welcomes Jennifer Henshaw as Associate Vice-President, Prairies. 

Combining her passion for government relations and communications, Jennifer is an impactful addition to the Counsel team. She joins Counsel from Restaurants Canada where she served as Vice President, Prairies and the North. She has held various positions working for the Alberta government, including as Senior Press Secretary to Minister of Energy and Press Secretary to the Associate Minister of Natural Gas and Electricity. Additionally, Jennifer spent over half a decade working in Saskatchewan with the CFIB in multiple policy and government relations-focused positions and built an unparalleled line-of-sight into how decisions get made in Saskatchewan. 

Counsel adds Dylan Topal as Senior Consultant, Prairies. 

Dylan brings nearly a decade of political expertise to Counsel, after serving in a variety of roles in both the governments of Alberta and Saskatchewan including working for Ministers’ responsible for Social Services, Seniors, Housing, and Public Safety and Emergency Services. In these roles, Dylan demonstrated his keen ability to align political strategy with the needs and perspectives of Albertans and Saskatchewanians. Prior to joining Counsel, Dylan also served as the Communications Manager for the Edmonton Region of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association.    

British Columbia 

Counsel welcomes Peter Dalla-Vicenza as Senior Consultant, British Columbia. 

Peter joins Counsel after two decades of serving five NDP Premiers in BC, Manitoba and Alberta. Peter is a passionate and dedicated team player focused on getting good things done. He now brings those skills and experience to help clients succeed at Counsel Public Affairs. Peter is also a skilled and experienced issues manager and crisis communications specialist who has worked on complex and politically sensitive files including child welfare, crime suppression and prevention, and public health.A long-time New Democrat, Peter has also worked in provincial campaign war rooms in Manitoba, Ontario, and BC. 

Counsel is also pleased to announce Christina Rzepa as Senior Consultant, British Columbia. 

Before joining Counsel, Christina’s career spanned pivotal roles in the BC New Democratic Party, both in opposition and government – where she earned trust as a senior advisor, instrumental in managing critical government challenges. Using her deep understanding of government decision-making processes, she equips clients with strategic insights to navigate bureaucratic channels efficiently. Her knack for discerning critical decision points aids in prioritizing efforts, focusing on impactful avenues—be it formal or informal—to yield maximum influence.
