The Partners of Counsel Public Affairs Inc. are pleased to announce that Brad Lavigne has been named President of the firm and Sheamus Murphy has assumed the role of Managing Partner.

These new responsibilities will allow Partners Phil Dewan, Caroline Pinto, and Bob Lopinski to focus their energies on providing Counsel’s clients with senior strategic advice. Their ongoing leadership ensures that our clients will benefit from their extensive experience and insight, in support of Counsel’s relentless commitment to client service excellence.

“Brad and Sheamus have proven their capabilities and vision, making them the ideal leaders to guide Counsel into its next chapter,” said Phil Dewan. “Caroline, Bob, and I are excited to support them and the rest of Counsel’s incredible team across Canada, while continuing to offer our clients the strategic guidance that has been a hallmark of our firm.”

“Counsel is one of Canada’s fastest growing public affairs agencies. To harness that growth, we have established a new leadership structure across our Western Canada, Ontario, Federal, and Communications practices to ensure our clients benefit from our industry-leading public affairs support,” said Brad Lavigne, Counsel’s President. “I want to thank Phil, Caroline, and Bob for their guidance through this exciting transition, secure in the knowledge that they will continue to advise our clients and remain active partners in the firm.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Counsel Public Affairs delivers a comprehensive range of integrated services in Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal government relations, strategic and corporate communications, public opinion research, public relations and digital campaigns, Indigenous engagement, and justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) consulting.

We look forward to this new phase of growth and innovation under Brad and Sheamus’s leadership.
